The good sense of purpose – LASMEDJA

Giving back to your community is fulfilling to where you at right now. If there’s nobody would stand and do the right thing just for a cause, nothing will ever happen. It takes a good heart and compassion to decide something that your neighbors or friends could benefit your good sense of purpose. If two or three are gathered in the same, nothing is impossible.

I can still remember so vividly, 20 years ago, these group of friends are very simple and there’s nothing to boast about of anything aside from being a good friend and understanding to others. Though we raised from obscurity we maintain the values that our parents taught us. We usually called these group of friends as Lasmedja which means a slang words for ‘its still half time’, I don’t know why but it sounds cool! LOL…

These are the friends that you can always rely on, I do believed that you do have the same friends as we do…but yeah, always value them. We used to hang out every night in a common place on where we can cook and eat pancit canton, others would bring some left over foods from their houses and have it altogether and we shared. Often we hang out in a nearby shop where we can buy and share the booze to everyone, sang most of the songs in a karaoke and then we go home drunk around 4am in the morning (hahahaha), though we make it sure that everyone goes home safely, and then the routine goes on and on. It does sounds bad to a minority, but this is our story on how we value that friendship long time ago up until now.

It was all fun and the memories we shared are priceless, something that you can never forget. We only have one thing in common, and that is playing basketball, a sports that is part of our being. As time goes by so fast, nothing in this world will remains the same. Some went abroad, some get married and have kids, and sadly to say that some of our friends left us in this world so early, and while others were trying to make a change to the society. We know the feeling to have nothing on the table but today, these group of friends wanted to create and do something that are more valuable to the society, those kids on the street and those individual that are not that fortunate and trying to make a living of their own.

They just started the feeding program, where everyone is welcome to eat and enjoy the rest of the day. The first ever project of Lasmedja and we hope and pray that this cause will continue to grow and can able to gather more resources in the future to serve its purpose. The main objective of this project is to value the health of every people in the community and through feeding program we can able to help those people who are suffering from food scarcity… It also help the child in developing many behavior like socialization, sharing their foods, be kind to all, and cooperation. On behalf of the residents fo Mazo-Mayon St, I would like to honor you and extending our respect to the people behind the scene for doing this feeding program and to those individual who participated and helped to make this cause a successful and memorable… May God bless all of your hearts desires and He may continue to look after your love ones. For the glory of God walks hand in hand, so lets walk together and be proud for we finally found the good sense of purpose of our lives. This is not about yourselves anymore, this is about bringing back the blessings to others… Godspeed.
