Uniprom Inc. Stages 2nd World Slasher Cup in Smart Araneta Coliseum

Uniprom, Inc. successfully organized the 2nd World Slasher Cup, a globally recognized cockfighting event with 142 participants. Governed by the Games and Amusements Board (GAB), the event’s licensing process highlighted its international stature.

Uniprom, Inc. a leisure and entertainment management company, recently staged its 2nd World Slasher Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum with a total of 142 entries participating in the occasion.  Being an international derby, the event was sanctioned by the Games and Amusements Board (GAB), an agency of the government in charge of regulating all forms of professional sports in the country.
Under Executive Order No. 149, Series of 1993, specific powers and functions of the defunct Philippine Gamefowl Commission (PGC) were devolved to GAB, especially in relation to the supervision and regulation of international derbies, comprising primarily of issuance of licenses and permitting of the event.  During the first two days of the event, licensing of participants, i.e., gaffers, as part of the World Slasher Cup was conducted by GAB Personnel. 

This second edition of World Slasher Cup was made possible through solid support from Thunderbird, Emperador, Petron, Tempo, and Filipino Mirror.

The World Slasher Cup 2, an invitational 9-cock derby was actually the second of the series of cockfighting events staged by Uniprom, Inc. for this year, the first being held last January.  This second edition of World Slasher Cup was made possible through solid support from Thunderbird, Emperador, Petron, Tempo, and Filipino Mirror. Sabong Experts consider World Slasher Cup as one of the most prestigious cockfighting events in the world.

This year’s initiatives for the derby were also made possible through strong collaboration from Derby Office Head and Smart Araneta Coliseum’s Cockpit Manager Dong Lamoste, Uniprom Inc. Chief Operating Officer (COO), Irene Jose, Binibining Pilipinas International 2023, Angelica Lopez and Binibining Pilipinas Globe 2023 Anna Lakrini. 
Pablito Gregore’s 22GF/Ormoc Joe entry and Joseph Panganiban’s Infiniti Gold 6-Cock Derby June 21 Manila Arena-2, shared the coveted World Slasher Cup (WSC) distinction garnering a score of 7.5 points in the 6-day derby matches.

Likewise, as part of Uniprom’s innovation/s, electronic betting machines were installed inside the cockpit arena for bettors who opted to bet through machines rather than through actual bookmaking.  This alternative betting scheme was set up by Uniprom to minimize the spread of COVID-19 as the latter’s transmission has still been a seeming possibility for everyone. Betting though was made only exclusively inside the cockpit (onsite) with no leakage or online streaming in compliance with the Executive Order 09 (Directing The Continued Suspension Of Electronic Sabong Operations Nationwide)
